Welcome to NATED

Welcome to the homepage of NATED
the National Association for Tertiary Education for Deaf people.

Our Mission Statement:

NATED exists to promote and develop opportunities for deaf learners in further, higher and continuing education and training. It aims to enable deaf learners to access quality support provision in their chosen courses and in their preferred communication mode, with appropriately qualified staff and fair assessment procedures. NATED also exists to provide advice, guidance and training opportunities to professionals working with these learners.

 NEWS FLASH
I-Sign Proposal for an initial training qualification called - Certificate in Learning Support (Communication Support Worker) is now available to view -
 http://www.signature.org.uk/page.php?content=90

The national consultation questionnaire is now also on the Signature website:-
http://www.signature.org.uk/isign/cswconsultation

The introductory section is being translated into BSL by remark! and the entire site will be ready for the on-line consultation to start on 1 Feb for 3 weeks. This is one week later than planned, due to the decision to make the information accessible to BSL users.

We hope that all NATED members will give their views of the proposed new CSW qualification by reading the proposed course content and completing the questionnaire.

We have a  New NATED Forum   which we would like you to join. You will need to re- register  before posting or replying to messages.
Please click on the Forum tab at the side of this page and follow the instructions.
We would very much like to get the forum up and running again so please post any conference or CPD training information and, of course, all those burning issues!
